How to Tow an EV in Thailand (Tesla, BYD, MG)
To tow an EV in Thailand, use a flatbed (Slide Car) only — never wheel-lift. Activate Transport Mode (Tesla) or jump-start the 12V battery (BYD/MG) first to release the parking brake, then winch the car fully onto the platform.

Steps
Confirm flatbed is on the way
When you call, explicitly say 'EV — Slide Car only'. Wheel-lift trucks should be refused. In Thai: 'รถ EV ใช้สไลด์คาร์เท่านั้น'.
Revive the 12V auxiliary battery
Most EV failures are not the high-voltage pack but the 12V battery that powers door locks and the parking brake release. The operator carries a lithium jump-pack to wake it.
Engage Transport / Tow Mode
Tesla: touchscreen → Service → Transport Mode. BYD: P → power off → leave in N. BMW i / Mercedes EQ: refer to manual.
Winch onto the flatbed with soft loop straps
Hard hooks must never touch alloy or carbon wheels. Loop straps over the tyre sidewalls only.
Confirm destination and insurance
Take a photo of the loaded car and the destination address (Tesla SC Bangna, BYD Rama 3, etc.) — share via LINE before departure.

Does Tesla in Thailand void warranty if I use a wheel-lift tow?
Yes. The Tesla Owner's Manual (Thailand edition) explicitly requires flatbed. Any drivetrain damage from wheel-lift towing is your responsibility.
Can I drive my EV slowly to the service centre instead?
Only if no warning lights are on and the high-voltage system is healthy. If any orange/red warning shows, flatbed it — driving can cascade into pack damage.
